You can hit printscreen at any time under Win9x and then load up a paint program and paste it.

You can hit printscreen at any time under Win9x and then load up a paint program and paste it.
If you are useing that method, then try Alt PrintScreen because this will limit the copying to memory just the active window, otherwise you will get the whole screen. And you won't need a large bloated program like paint, you can paste that screen image into Wordpad too.
Another alternative to that method if you have Chessbase's Chessbase Lite (free download) is to get the position that you want an image of, goto CBL's "printing" menu, and select "diagram->clipboard". Now you can go to Wordpad, and in the "edit" menu, select "paste special" and then just accept whatever the default setting is in that dialog box that pops up. Note that the size of the board in CBL will determine the size of the image that you get when you do "paste special", you can copy that image in wordpad back into the clipboard by using Ctrl C, and then paste that image into just about anything.
You can see some images that I made that way (although I made them a bit too small actually) on my web page with the game I played very poorly against Vincent Diepveen's Diep program. See the link below.
