AC2 Winboard Blitz Tournament by Alexandre Côme
Winboard 4.0.3 , 5 min games , K6 2 350 , 16 mo of hash table , Ponder OFF!
IMPORTANT:
Gromit is the 2.20 version with a eval.cfg tweaked by myself.
NUTx is a private program not publicly available!
Comments:
I have made this tournament to test NUTx and my tweaked eval.cfg for Gromit 2.20.
IMHO NUTx is strong positionnaly and tacticaly but it is somewhat weak in endgame.
My eval.cfg for Gromit 2.20 is interesting and produces some very good tactical games,
but I think it is not as strong as the original version.
Bad tournament for SOS (SOS-AnMon= 0.5-9.5!!)
AnMon 5.01 is definitely very strong in blitz game!
Final Standing:
1.AnMon 5.01 22/30
2.NUTx 15/30
3.SOS 14/30
4.Gromit 9/30
To Frank Quisinsky:
If you want, I can send you games in pgn for your Web-site.
Best Regards

Alexandre,
This is very important I think: there are two versions of SOS, one that was compiled 25.10.1999 and the one compiled on 3.11.1999. In my opinion, the latter version, even though it uses tablebases and supports analysis, etc., is definitely way weaker than the previous version (especially at blitz)! I haven't yet reported this to Rudolf, but I surely will. It is quite frail someplace that I can win a blitz match against it, and this means disaster :)) Therefore, my suggestion: please replay the tourney with the previous (first released) version of SOS and you will get different results.

Yes this is a good idea, because 0.5 : 9,5 is not so good for SOS !
Christian Koch play many games with SOS and here SOS play an wonderful chess. The latest version !
The idea from Djordje is good. I hope Alexandre have the time to replay the games with the older version of SOS !
I will play over night with the new SOS version against AnMon 5.01 and wrote tomorrow.
Christian Koch and I play (for 3 weeks) games with AnMon 5.01 against the older SOS version. Here SOS lose with 4,5 : 5,5 by me and Christian.
60 moves in 10 minutes (AMD K6-3 450 MHz and Pentium III 504 MHz).
Kind regards
Frank
