OK folks, after a long wait while I got some work done on my PhD I've finally got round to getting back to ColChess and releasing a new version.
Not many changes, though you'll probably find that positional play is a noticeable amount better than previous versions, as are some aspects of endgame play. I've done a bit of work on king safety and pawn structures too.
I've also changed the opening book code, so you'll need to DL the new versions from my webpage. They are now considerably larger as well.
Hope it all works.
Dann - I'd appreciate a WAC run on your P-500 if possible please :))
Cheers,
Colin

I forgot to mention that I haven't done a Windows exe yet. I might get round to doing that tonight, but I wanted to make sure that it worked as expected first. You can get the source for 6.2 and the exe for 6.1.
Cheers,
Col

You are right about positional play. When running a BoundsChecker debug build, I get about .1% of normal speed. About 2 ply was finished in 5 seconds (on average). Even at that, ColChess was scoring over 50% on WAC!!!
I was impressed.
