In a very easy way chessmaster6000 killed nimzo2000b.
it's unbelievable, but chessmaster played Qf3f6 and Nf3g5
and that was enough.
If anybody wants to know the difference between a knowledge-based
program capable to do a plan, and a non-knowledge-based program,
take a closer look into this game.
in move 20 nimzo made 20...Nc8 with -1.89 score.
Chessmaster6000 considered about Re3 (main-line had
Rh3 in it: Re3 b3 axb3 cxb3 cxb3 Rab8 Rh3 h5) with +3.45 score.
after this move was given to nimzo, it said:
-4.59 in search 9. having seen h6.
only 1 ply later.
the program has no idea about what could happen, when the
search has not seen it.
a few seconds later , still in search 9, the score decreased
into -5.49. it saw h5. and later -2.48 with considering about b3.
guess the more it searches here, it will win the game in the end

what a short miniature !
after outplaying b3, nimzo evaluated -3.71 and expected
axb3. when i put the move into chessmaster6000, it instantly
moved - of course NOT axb3

evaluations 99.94 after it.

the next game we will hopefully follow
with passion and interest is shredder4 against virtual2.
2 intelligent programs against each other. what an event !
both have 7.5 points and have shown very strong chess so far.
i am wondering what virtual3 is doing !
is it far away from beeing ready ? will it participate
next computerchess-championship. Maybe one of the programmers
can email me under mclane@surf1.de. thank you.
Shredder was too strong for virtual-chess:
