ColChess problem

It looks as though ColChess always remained in memory even after I close Winboard. This causes some thread lurking around and taking away a lot of processor time thereby falsifying the intended time control.
Has anyone met this problem before and knows the cure? Thank you.

Yes, that's why /reuse with ColChess is a bad idea. Try Ctrl+Alt+Delete and end the appropriate task.

Yes, that's why /reuse with ColChess is a bad idea. Try Ctrl+Alt+Delete and end the appropriate task.

Thanks, Mogens. I have already tried this. The curious thing is that the popup window doesn't always include ColChess! So I can't end it. I don't see any other solution than restarting the computer... not a dream.

When you check the popup window is there a process called winold, or something similar? If there is, end it.

Yes, there is a process called winoldap. That will be it.
