Winboard plus or winboard?

Just wondering, how many of you guys have switched permenantly to winboard plus?
It has many nice features, but I'm wondering, if it's a good thing to switch over?
Also is there any way, to tell if winboardplus is almost exactly the same as winboard except for the change in Interface and some features? (Source code comparison?)

I suspect many still keep the orginal winboard4.07 right?
Some questions..
So what happens if a winboard4.08 is announced without building on winboardplus? Which versions will the programmers be supporting?
or
Say you are thinking of running a new computer tournment, how many of you will be willing to use winboardplus to run it?
IMHO Winboard plus is nice, but the extra features only are used in human ICS games..or for analysis..Not really superior for running test matches or tournaments..
So perhaps for the sake of stability , use winboard4.07 when running tournaments, Winboardplus for other things?
Maybe this should be a poll question..

Aaron,
I agree with you. I use Winboard 4.0.7 for all tournaments I run. I will not use Winboard plus, but it does have many nice features for the ICS and human usage of the program. Several problem reports on NT in particular leave Winboard Plus open to scrutiny on its stability.
I do hope to see Timm Mann incorporate some of the GUI fearures in his next release of Winboard, but it is not a necessity.

Unless you're a NT owner, I don't see any problems.
Just the features:
- engine-engine matches
- analysis
- game viewer
- ICS support
- configuration of GUI
And probably other features. I haven't experienced any problems.
I have both versions installed.
It's just a question of Marc Williams adding to/changing the source code.
I'm running ML-10 on WinBoard and SuperWB on WinBoard Plus. It played a couple of SuperWB games during the night and no problems.
I seriously doubt that clipboard support and ICS options change anything at all, because the match source stays unchanged.
Best wishes...

I saw some interesting features added, but I'm not realy interested in most of it. The thing that interested me most is that I think it has the ability to go to the end of a pgn game really fast, but I'm not going to install it for that.
Tim Mann's Winboard is well tested and dependable, I'll stick with that one.

You guys are looking at this somewhat the wrong way. If I come out with another version of WinBoard, I will definitely start with WinBoard Plus and probably include all the new things from it. The only way I would not do that is if some small but very nasty bug turned up in 4.0.7 and I felt I needed to put out a quick fix, but I would still want to pick up the Plus stuff later. So far, though, I haven't even downloaded it to try it out yet...

Hi Aaron
I use winboardplus all the time, the main reason is the black outline around the white pieces which now offers a far greater range of board colours and is far easier to watch,I havent tried the other features. But I am very happy with it.
Just my opinion :-)
Cheers
