Hi All,
GLC 2.09 is now available. It has quite a number of changes to the engine, including using move frequency data from the opening book. There is also a new opening book utility to generate books that contain the frequency data. This should make the strange opening lines much less likely to be played by GLC.
The evaluation function has also has more knowledge added.
For more details see my site.
Cheers, Tim.

First impression:
seems to be much stronger, may be 50 - 100 points?!
Did I get it right: it doesn´t support tablebases?!

I think so. It's difficult to say with accuracy, but I am running short game time tournaments against Arasanx 5.4 at the moment. The current results are:
K6/2 333Mhz.
GL 2.09, 12M Hash, Crafty's small opening book.
Arasanx 5.4, 16M Hash, Arasan's default opening book.
Ponder off.
No tablebases.
Blitz, 40 in 2: GL vs Arasan: w68-l38-d14.
40 in 5: GL vs Arasan: w22-l17-d8
You are correct. I plan to support them at some time, but I don't know when :)
