Yet another Pittlik Error
As some have noticed Yace is playing without hash sometimes. This happend to me too and the result of the match I have posted here some days ago (http://f11.parsimony.net/forum16635/messages/6144.htm) can not be kept serious.
The reason for playing without hash is as simple as painful:
I have edited my winboard.ini improperly. It contained:
/firstChessProgramNames="GNUChess
...
\"Yace_021\" /fd=d:\\WinBoard\\yace
...
"
/secondChessProgramNames="GNUChess
...
\"Yace_021 xboard\" /sd=d:\\WinBoard\\yace
...
"
Do you see it? I haven't. Dieter told me. It's "xboard" in the second line.

If Yace was started as second chess program (as I have done in the match) it tried to read a file named xboard as initilization file. And because there wasn't a file like this Yace played without hash. Maybe some have something similar in their wb.ini. Yace doesn't need "xboard".
I will run the match again with the new version.

Yace has never used the xboard option and it has never been mentioned in any readme file AFAIK. The detail pages have never mentioned that this particular option was necessary, so I'm slightly puzzled. Dieter did ask me if I'd experienced problems similar to yours and the answer was no. No wonder :o)).
Best wishes...

:-))
Volker, I made x mistakes in the last months.
The best ...
In my FQ-2 tourney InmiChess played 6 rounds without tablebases. Here I made a mistake in my Inmi.ini ! I think InmiChess is 3-4 points better with tablesbases because Inmi lose remis games in endgame :-(
OK, not person know that !
Pssst ...

Oops. But of the above, I only use lampchop...So let me amend my statement, of the strongest winboard engines only Anmon requires the -xboard command..
