Can someone help..
My TBs are in the directory c:\chesseng\tb
The engine executable..

Is SOS10.exe ( I renamed sos oct version) is in c:\\chesseng\\sos10
This is what is in my ini file
\"sos10 c:\\chesseng\\tb \" /fd=c:\\chesseng\\sos10
it fails to run as it assumes that sos10.exe is in c:\\chesseng\\tb ??

Does it write that it's searching for sos10.exe in the tb directory? I'm somewhat clueless as to the solution of the problem. I don't think that the number 10 is the problem. You could try removing it, but I don't think it helps. Does the october version support tablebases? It does work without the tablebase path added?
My entry looks like this:
\"SOS c:\\Tb\" /fd=c:\\Engines\\SOS
Sorry, but I can't see any problems.
Sincerely,
Mogens

No idea, But perhaps only the nov version supports TBs but that (the Nov version) doesn't work for me..
Yes.
It works fine without Tbs

I added the space in my inifile and ran an endgame position. No problems occurred.

Well I've just copied my SOS to c:\chesseng\sos renamed it to SOS10. My tablebases live in g:\tb. Everything works fine. My c:\chesseng\sos contains:
sos10.exe
sos.bk
My winboard.ini contains:
\"SOS10 g:\\tb\" /fd=c:\\chesseng\\SOS
\"SOS10 g:\\tb\" /sd=c:\\chesseng\\SOS
I've used a testposition for my test:
8/8/6k1/8/8/3NB3/4K3/8 w - - 0 1
SOS (as white) finds the TBs, moves imediatly and then:
RESIGNS!
Here is the log:

Thanks people Mogen and Volker for your efforts..Could be a problem with my Tb directory ..I'll put it in C:\tb and see..
I've used a testposition for my test:

SOS (as white) finds the TBs, moves imediatly and then:

Interesting..I used a NBK vers K postion to test as well..
huh? I should be glad I couldn't get the TB to work..Does this bug exist only with my directory and file settings? Or is it in all SOS oct versions?

Well..With any luck, A newer version of SOS will be released soon, so all this is moot..

I don't think it's a problem of the path to the TBs.
...
Just retested it, the problem only occurs when SOS plays both white and black. Against another opponent it works without problems.

Sorry, I can use the november version only (running NT).
I hope so.
Best wishes
