Help please with winboard

I have LGgold ,Crafty,Comet and GNUchess .How do you install them in winboard so
that you can select one to play with the drop-down menu.After that can i select
any combination of engine vs engine match ?What about the opening book can every

Here are the configuration files. These may prove helpful.

These programs use different opening books.
If you can speak German, or have a German speaking friend, this will be immensely helpful:

You might try babelfish, but it is not very good with technical stuff.

Let's assume that you keep all your chess engines in a folder called PROGS, and that you keep your specific engines in subfolders. Your winboard.ini file would have something like this at the bottom of it:

from what is posted below, I don't think you should have a problem
figuring out the syntax /format for other engines..Some programs though require a special command ,such as -xboard or -t or -hash for hash tables..
Most programs have a slightly different book format I think..Still you can build them up from the same PGN file..

Just checking shouldn't it be /sd instead of /fd for the second chessprogramnames?

every hting i've tried dont work.

You have to edit your winboard.ini file and add that lines.
