Hello. Does anyone here regularly send the book.lrn to Dr Hyatt?
I thought i should at least contribute a little to such a wonderful program but i'm afraid of screwing up even after reading the explaination
Some questions
So basically what i do is
1)Send my book.lrn file to Dr Hyatt
2)delete my book.lrn
3)download a new book.lrn file (i haven't updated it for the past few versions) from Dr Hyatt
4)rename file in step 3 to newbook.lrn
5)type "import clear newbook.lrn" then "import book.lrn"
Still I'm not quite sure..
As i understand it, learning goes on in the book.bin, and the book.lrn file is just a record right?
So..when I delete book.lrn in step 2, I don't lose the learnt lines i sent to him.okay fine..And I understand why this is done so I don't accidently send duplicate learnign results while retaining the learning in the book.bin..
Assuming I immediately download the newbook.lrn(which doesn't include the learning i just sent him)
then the first command "import clear newbook.lrn" would mean that my book bin is put back to normal and then it would be adjusted with the new book learning gained from that file right?
But isn't the book learning I just sent to Dr Hyatt unavailable/lost untill he distributes it in a updated newbook.lrn in his website?
IS this (minor) flaw real?
Another question, assuming that we are using different books, i wonder how learning still works? Also I guess the learning doesn't matter which version of crafty it comes from..
