Sprinkled in the middle of a 41 game match between Comet and LGoliath, I have three very strange outcomes:
[Event "Computer chess game"]
[Site "PHIL"]
[Date "2000.03.31"]
[Round "3"]
[White "Comet"]
[Black "LGoliath"]
[Result "1-0"]
[TimeControl "3600"]
1. e4
{Black resigns} 1-0
[Event "Computer chess game"]
[Site "PHIL"]
[Date "2000.04.01"]
[Round "19"]
[White "Comet"]
[Black "LGoliath"]
[Result "1-0"]
[TimeControl "3600"]
1. d4
{Black resigns} 1-0
[Event "Computer chess game"]
[Site "PHIL"]
[Date "2000.04.03"]
[Round "39"]
[White "Comet"]
[Black "LGoliath"]
[Result "1-0"]
[TimeControl "3600"]
1. d4
{Black resigns} 1-0
Each time it is LGoliath, playing as black, which resigns. I would suspect that the engine simply stopped responding, but the next game was always successful. Has anyone else seen this strange phenomenon?

Yes, I saw it in a couple of 40/120 games against Crafty. Maybe it's best to use /-reuse and /-reuse2 options.
Best wishes...

A lot of programs and a lot of games I saw with this problems.
Games with BIONIC, games with CRAFTY, games with GNU 5.0, without
account the refuses to the first move how MFCHESS, PIERRE, etc./
I haven't an explain, but with RESET or with EDIT GAME, or with
EDIT POSITION, the follow game is normal...

I ALWAYS get that when Lgoliath loses the last game..I just reset and ignore it, altough, it's irrating since I have to manually delete the "Lost game"

Exactly, what I do..I seldom try other programs but I have similar problems sometimes with Dragon I believe..
