Well, Yace doesn't crash during analysis using WinBoard Plus on my machine. Are you sure you've downloaded the latest version from the website of Frank Q? However, you can't select reset and start a new game with either "Machine white/black" or "Two Machines" after analysis with WinBoard Plus. I believe this is a bug in WinBoard Plus, because opening book and NAG's works perfectly with WinBoard 4.0.7.
Best wishes...

Interesting..Didn't know that.Does that bug apply to other engines with analysis, or is that specific to Yace?.
More stuff to add to the faq I'm working on.

The same applies for Crafty and Amy, so I assume it goes for all programs after analysis under WinBoard Plus. I think I might try and contact the "author" of WinBoard Plus.

Hmm. It doesn't crash here under WinboardPlus. Can you give the details,
how you got it crashed.
But I have recognized the same problems, that Mogens said. You cannot reset
a game. WinboardPlus doesn't seem to send the command to exit Analyze mode.
If I understand Tim Mann's description of the Winboard Protocoll correctly,
only "exit" reverses to normal mode. Really don't know what to do about
this. Doing machine black/white and then reset may work.
I don't understand exactly what you mean here, by recognize. Do you mean that
in the opening something like
bm e2e4 count 10000 flags 3 [meaning !!]
is shown? When this is the only move, that has flags 3, it should always be
done. When the flags is -3 [??], it should never be selected. Perhaps
you can send me the relevant parts of yace.log and Winboard.debug.

Dieter

Thanks for request.
I will send you the logs and the correct words. Its hard to me to speak in english (im argentine)
Ive edited a x position in winboard Plus, next ive clicked in analisys mode, next Yace (both Dietter and Danns version) crashed and the log not sayed nothing, like if ive reseted the machine. But this only occurs with an only position, with others works fine! Later in the night i will post the diabolic position :-))
The second: Ive edited a yace book with 2600.pgn + start.pgn, but "my" start.pgn has 212 Kb of size and 1037 lines (pretty small :-)) (maybe this is not enable),a little example: Ive edited d4! and Yace plays e4? (in the log stay that d4! with NAG 2, but....)
Its more clear?
Thanks in advance
