Fixing Jester

This old engine is known to have a time management bug : it often loses on time at move 40 with black pieces when 40/x time control is used.

I recently found a compile by Dann Corbit at Guenther's place and tried it. Unfortunately the bug is still there :(

Dann, Jim, or anybody else willing to spend some effort on this oldie would be welcome !

Olivier

PS : I don't know whether the source code is still available on the internet.

Hi Olivier,

I recently saved Jester and had its link on the archive.org site handy.

This is the URL and the source code download link on the page works.

Thanks Charles !

Now let's see what our master compilers can do about it :)

Looks like Jim Ablett helped you out Olivier, if you get a chance tell how it does for you.

Here's an older Jester page, same version, not as stylish as the other page but has more information on it.

Yeah, I have tested Jim's bugfixed Jester, and losses on time seem to be gone :D Master Jim did it again 8-)
