Hi Chessfriends,
at the moment i´m playing a match between
YACE 0.22 (with special time para) and Shredder 4.0 (under CA 5.1)
Conditions: 30min.-Games with 16MB HTs, "Draw-Book"
Intermediate result YACE 0.22 - Shredder 4.0 5.5 - 4.5 (3-5-2)
Too less games i now, but it looks like Yace could be a real challenge
to Shredder at this level ?!
Regards, G.S.

Hey Gerhard,
The results look promising. What special time parameter are you using? The default settings appear to be okay except for time allocation. An improvement there could mean a significant increase in strength. Keep us posted :o).
BTW, what hardware are you using?
Best wishes...

Hi Mogens,
the PARAs are:
null_h 4.0
mintime_factor 0.55
nmoves_inctime 12
on two K6-350 and 380.
I think (only under CB-GUI and maybe also under CA) the problem is, that
yace moves to fast after leaving the openingbook. In most of my games Yace have more time at the end of the games than the opponent. With this settings it looks like that Yace will divide its time a little bit better ?!
Regards G.S.

I've been doing some testing under the Fritz light GUI as well and Yace moves very swiftly, especially in x moves in y minutes games. I'll try the authors suggestions soon and see if it helps. It'll probably take some time before the optimal settings are found. Hopefully, they don't vary too much with different timecontrols. Thank you for your input Gerhard, I'll check them out myself at some point.
Best wishes...
Mogens
