I have added some people to the regular list of this forum. Regulars can enter their password with I send by email to them at the bottom of the input form in the regular field. Their name will be added automatically to their post and the color will change to pink /purple.
I beg your pardon for the fake posts which occurs here at the weekend. If you think I have forgotten to add you to the regulars list, please drop me a line with your _real_ email-address (hotmail, yahoo, aol... will not be accepted).
You are still able to post here in the traditional way.
Regards

This means that regulars are more or less obligated to use their password. Otherwise the assumption would be that he/she is a troll imitating a regular and nothing will have been achieved. A regular list might prove useful in that respect as well.
A good idea. The various free e-mail services shouldn't be allowed. That criteria alone would remove a lot of trolls from various fora and newsgroups.
Best wishes...

It sure isn't free in USA. I tried my nieghbor's AOL and hated it, so I'm sure I'd never be willing to pay for it, but it's not free. I'm sorry that AOL has started to be available in other parts of the world, that's very bothersome to me, because around here, small local companies do a _much_ better job than AOL. And they do it for less money too.
I don't understand why AOL will not be accepted though.

How come you've included Chessfun, (s)he's got a yahoo email address. Not that I have anything against him/her, on the contrary, but you ought to stick to your criteria, or else abandon the restrictions altogether.
Just to make this clear: everything that Chessfun has contributed so far was fine with me; (s)he's been a decent and likeable member :-)

I agree, it should be all or noone. In this case it obviously means everyone as there's no reason to exclude Chessfun. Principles without consequence are not principles at all, so it's wiser to abandom them altogether. At least in this case.
Best wishes...

Hi,
Volker sent me the password, as I assume I have been a known poster
here and at CCC for about 18 months.
To which I replied and I quote:
"Volker,
Thank you.
The issue of real email accounts is sometimes
questioned. Therefore for the record my home email is
_________@____.com.
Naturally I would prefer NOT to use this email address
on the internet so will still use this yahoo one for
that, but as the question of why I had a password with
a yahoo account may come up I figure giving you my
home email in advance would prevent problems.
Thanks"
Naturally the correct email has been removed from this message.
Thanks.
PS.
You almost did everything right.
If you choose to refer to me please do so correctly.
Either use Chessfun or Sarah. Chessfun if that makes you happier
but I am not a he(s)he. Where I'm from that refers to a transexual
and regardless of intent you could simply have left your comments to
the name chessfun.
Thanks.

In my opinion any known poster who has not caused trouble in this forum should have the right to remain anonymous. However upon receipt of my password I knew this issue would be raised and therefore decided to send my correct email address to Volker. That was about 10 hours prior to this thread starting up on the subject, see my other post.
I do not feel under any obligation to have to use this email address within the messages I post, and will not. If the decision were taken that the email address would also appear with the password being placed then I would simply post as previous in black letters and live with the possibility of impersonation.
Thanks.

As long as Volker has your correct e-mail address, then I don't see any problems whatsoever. It was the mere statement made by Volker and the fact that it was consequently ignored without explanation that baffled Djordje and I, at least that is my impression.
Your personal reasons are your own of course and should be respected without question. Since Volker have no problems accepting your membership, it's fine with me as well. Please believe when I say that it wasn't an attempt to get you excluded from using purple :o), but an attempt to get the rules clarified for future reference.
Best wishes...

Yes, I guess you can get the essential services cheaper using some other provider. But they are forced to become cheaper too; so I'll wait a bit.
Neither do I.

Regarding Chessfun's password I am completely in accord with Mogens.
Regarding the gender reference to Chessfun: I had no idea who you are (male or female) and that's why I used the indefinite disjunctional pronouns ((s)he). Sorry. I have just learned from Chessfun that the nick refers to a Sarah. Well, Sarah, nice to meet you :-)
Next time I shall refer to you as "you", when talking to you, and, if in the third person, as "she" or Chessfun. Hope that is fine with you.
Thanks for being a reasonable and moderate participant in our glass-bead game palaver.
