Using Pixmaps with Winboard 4.5.3

Postby codhubiv » 10 Feb 2012, 20:57

I downloaded some pixmaps from:

http://ixian.com/chess/xboard-winboard-pixmaps/

And followed their instructions to try and use the pieces with Winboard (I'm sure I got this working in xboard on a Linux box a while back).

So I try and use them as-per instructions on this link, like this:

Code: Select all
winboard.exe /pixmap "c:\Users\me\xboard\alpha\coastalfog"

But the pieces don't change, they remain the same as before. No errors are returned though. I can't find much in the way of information on using pixmaps via Google.

What am I doing wrong?

Pixmaps are a Linux graphics format, used by XBoard. WinBoard does not support them.

The only way to use external pieces in WinBoard is through a true-type piece font.
