Ok, could some nice person out there explain to me, what this program is?? I haven't seen much about it. Is it strong? Is it even for Winboard?? If so where can I get it?? So many questions

Thanks,
Dan
It's an engine for Chessbase interfaces, it won't work with Winboard no matter what you try. Reports are that it's not really very strong (I'm sure it's stronger than me) so it's probably not worth feeling deprived about because we have some really great mid strength programs that do run in Winboard, Gromit and The Crazy Bishop come to mind first for me, as far as mid-strength programs go.Ok, could some nice person out there explain to me, what this program is?? It is the Bobby program. See my tournament database for games in tournaments (WM ...). I think 2300 ELO. LCT II test better tactical results than Fritz 3, Fritz 4´, Hiarcs 4 and positional LCT II be worse than these programs.Ok, could some nice person out there explain to me, what this program is?? Doctor? is an interesting engine I think ; but if you talk about mid-strength and talk about Gromit at the same time you might experience a great positive surprise if you try it at longer time controls :=) .Pete
This is what I've heard about Gromit, that it's much stronger relative to other WB programs with long time controls. I love the way Gromit plays games against people (me) so that's why it came to mind right away.Gromit and The Crazy Bishop come to mind first for me, as far as mid-strength programs go.Doctor? is an interesting engine I think ; but if you talk about mid-strength and talk about Gromit at the same time you might experience a great positive surprise if you try it at longer time controls :=) .Pete
