On Techno Chess

Hello there, Frank, Pete & Christian,
My impression based on about 30 blitz games (G/5) I played vs. Techno (positive score for me!!!) is that Techno is a nice program but much weaker than Frank thought at first. I'd assign not more than 2200 for it. Please take this with a pinch of salt, as I tried it only at blitz and not at longer time controls. (I also tested it against WB Diep 1.60 and Diep won 5-0 easily. Diep is a real "knowledge-based" program, while my impression is that Techno is "fast and dumb".) My criticism is also that Techno's king safety is pathetic. It simply does NOT see when you start attacking its king, let alone the build-up leading to the attack. Therefore I had a feeling that I should win EVERY single game vs Techno. Naturally I made lots of oversights so Techno was able to win from time to time. Two typical examples of my wins:

Fritz 5.32 plays 8 .. Qxb2 even after several minutes of thinking.
This is not the bad move.
Fritz thinks 7 .. Qe5 then change for 7 .. Qd8.
Techno Chess plays Qd8 after 16s, too late for a blitz game.

I'd assign not more than 2200 for it. Please take this with a pinch of salt, as I tried it only at blitz and not at longer time controls. (I also tested it against WB Diep 1.60 and Diep won 5-0 easily. Diep is a real "knowledge-based" program, while my impression is that Techno is "fast and dumb".) My criticism is also that Techno's king safety is pathetic. It simply does NOT see when you start attacking its king, let alone the build-up leading to the attack. Therefore I had a feeling that I should win EVERY single game vs Techno. Naturally I made lots of oversights so Techno was able to win from time to time. Two typical examples of my wins:

Nice game, Alexandre. Similar in style to my games ) Proves that Techno is weak regarding king safety: 8... Qxb2 is inexcusable by today's standards. Good to hear from you.

Fritz 5.32 plays 8 .. Qxb2 even after several minutes of thinking.
This is not the bad move.
Fritz thinks 7 .. Qe5 then change for 7 .. Qd8.
Techno Chess plays Qd8 after 16s, too late for a blitz game.
