It runs fine for me even at very short blitz controls (1 0, 3 0) under win98 with winboard4.05. I did notice however, that if "ponder next move" is checked on under winboard options, that it times out.

Hi,
the new version still has the below reported bug that it doesn't pay attention to the time control on my computer
As Volker Pittlik reported the same ; is this something only happening at our computers or is it a problem you can reproduce too ? Maybe a little experiment : set it to 1/0 and play against it for yourself ; my blitz record against phalanx could really become impressive this way :-)
I run it on a P233 with Windows98 , it is _no_ hashtable problem as disk is not working and hash limited to 4MB anyway.
Does anyone run it under Linux ? Same problems or not ?
Help appreciated.

Now this is the second time in two days where net conversation helps understanding about the problem :-)
And this also perfectly explains why Frank , the permanent non-ponderer , didn't experience it :-)
Ok , but now still the question remains : is this work for Dusan Dobes or for Dann Corbit ? sounds more like a real phalanx problem to me now .

I have posted below my findings regarding Phalanx XXII. I am running it under Win 2000 on a dual board and it runs fine if made to play X moves in Y time. However, if I set it to a sudden death level it hangs. Appears that only sudden death levels are affected by the time glitch. Otherwise it plays a mean game of chess :)

PS: A piece of info: Anmon 5.05 can be downloaded from my web pages too now, both at www.cent.co.yu/chess and www.computerschach.de/freeware.

If it is fixed, it will be by DD. I am too lazy to fix the bugs, even ones that I create.
;-)
After everything is operating smoothly, I will go over it in some detail. But that is on a very relaxed time frame for me. Anyone who is anxious can try to fix it for themselves. I put the whole modified source code and MS VC++ projects in the zip file on my ftp site.

I can confirm that the new Phalanx22 version still has the reported bug that it doesn't pay attention to the time control. This happens when using blitz games and only when "ponder next move" is on. In such cases the function "reset game" does also not work.
