Question about Amy

I am currently testing Amy (Dann Corbitt's latest version) in Fritz 6. It works fine but I noticed in the Amy folder there were hundreds of pgn files saved. Checking the pgn files, it appears Amy saves a pgn file after every move. Is there any way to disable this saving of pgn files? Thanks for your help.

Well, Amy protocols every game played in an pgn... The Problem with Fritz is now, that the Fritz-Winboard-Adapter is not 100%-Winboard-compatible... As I know, it sends after every move a 'new' command... So Amy thinks, a new game starts and close the old pgn and open a new one... Perhaps there is a switch in the commandline how we can stop this in amy... --> By the way... this new command is often the reason, why many Winboard-engines play's quite worser under Fritz then under Winboard... For me, the MCS seems to have addapt the Winboard-thing better, but I am not sure... Also Chessvision looks for me very interesting... Frank ? Do you know more about ?

Don't use winboard engines under Fritz, unless the don't use hash tables. Hash tables are reset each time Fritz sends the command new, so the winboard program's strength is hurt.
