Lower level WinBoard Tournament

Hi there!
Has anyone ever run/thought of running a WinBoard tournament for the lower level programs (i.e. not the GM level ones) such as my own ColChess, and many others which all play approaching or slightly over 2000 ELO?
If you do then I'm sure you can find at least a dozen programs of a similar level to enter it. I'd sure be interested to see how ColChess does. Especially if someone gets the latest version tonight after I recompile V5.3 and then hopefully it'll actually be able to compete.
It just gets a little boring watching all these top programs competing several hundred ELO above what I can achieve, and I know that if I take part in any of those tournaments I won't get a single point. I'd just be interested to know what my opposition is really like down at the lower end of the spectrum, with every program running on the same machine. I'd also like to get an accurate ELO.
If anyone wants to volunteer then I'd be most grateful but I neither have the knowledge or the tools to do this myself.

I wouldn't mind making a small tournament, but unfortunately I can't make colchess work under winboard. I downloaded a copy yesterday. I thought it was v5.2, but it claimed to be v5.1.
I can play against it directly if I use the command: run colchess_51.exe H14 black.
Otherwise it won't move. If there's a new version sometime tonight I'll try again.

Yeah there's a problem with updating versions because I do all my coding in Linux, and then occasionally change to Windows to update the .exe and stuff, but often the source in the .zip distribution is a lot higher version than the Win .exe
Have you checked Frank's page? He's kindly put a large help file up about how to get it working. I never had any problems myself. It's probably a path problem. I'll recompile tonight and have the new version up by 6pm UK time. (7pm German time)

about two or three pages down there's a bit about configuring ColChess under WinBoard.
Just out of interest, have you tried using a shorter name? I _did_ have one email which suggested that perhaps there was a WinBoard problem with long file names. Just a thought.

OK the new version is up now. I've just compiled the v5.3 binary. There aren't many changes so I'd not be too excited, folks
If you still can't get it to work then try running WinBoard with the -debug option turned on, and then check out the winboard.debug file in your winboard directory. That might help you find out what the exact problem is (i.e. whether it can't run ColChess or if it quits unexpectedly or something) If there's something strange then let me know otherwise it should be quite straightforward to get it running.
That debug feature is extremely useful.
If you run a tournament then please let me know the results. I suggest you use the large opening book (rename book_large.dat to book.dat) or else it will play stupid openings!
