I'm having some trouble with Inmichess. The book moves are executed very slowly compared to previous versions. Am I the only one with this problem? It's not a serious problem unless it's a blitz game. Freyr works perfectly though.
Best wishes...

Under winboard Inmi3.02 uses at least 4 seconds per move. It is obviously book moves, because it uses the right openings. In blitz that would mean a time deficit of almost a minute after bookmoves have ended.

Are you sure the opening book is on? I forgot to turn thinking on, and didn't realise that part of the "delay" was due to the fact that the opening book wasn't working..And it played the petroff fairly decently enough (and I don't know petroff anyway so my moves were quickly non book..) for me to think it was playing book..
Still I should have guessed, most programs with opening books off using try the petroff (thaT is if it finds 1...e5, some like 1...Nc6?!)

I initally thought that I had the same problem..It takes sometime for inmichess to load up for it's first move.. But it works fine for subsequence games..
Regarding the opening book, which is the correct file to download from your site? Book302 or inmibook.zip?
Strangely , I couldn't get the unzipped file from book302.zip to work..And it's the newer file...29/12/1999
Oh..this is in winboard..
Aaron

Inmibook.zip works, but Book302.zip doesn't. (no text)

Unter Fritz stürzt 3.02 eigenartiger Weise jetzt öfter ab (bzw. bleibt hängen).
3.01 lief problemlos?!

Hello Werner !
New InmiChess 3.02 : 2 problems (bugs) under Winboard 4.05 :
1) The old book work fine, not the new ...
2) In blitz "engine-engine" (5 mn K.O.), in the latest (about) minute : InmiChess lost on time, he don't replied his move !!

So in my BB13 tournament, i cannot running InmiChess 3.02...
Could you verify these 2 problems ? and post a new 3.02 version ?
Than you Werner.
Brice

I was able to get all of the zipfiles to work, I use PKwin, not Winzip, but like everyone else is talking about, I can't get Inmichess to use the book, I have not found a way around this.
For what it's worth, I tried to use version 301 but with the new books and ini file, and that version is now not using the book. A problem with the book itself?

Since I overwrote the last book, and the old version of the book is no longer available on Werner's site, what I did was download the Inmichess that's at Gambitsoft, and used the book.dat file from that older version. This will give you a working opening book that works with both version 301 and 302.
The new book probably just needs to be compiled again (?)

I should have been more precise. The zipfiles work, but the content does not. I downloaded Book302.zip because there was a new bookformat, but it didn't work. Therefore I downloaded the other available book, which did get the job done.
Best wishes...

exactly, that is the same problem i have. Weird considering that the lastest book (Book302.zip) is supposed to be the newer one..
