Warum?
Weiss jemand?

I have the same error Wyx...
ActiveX can't create objet
Error -484

I guess both of you use Win98...under which I have the same problem ("ActiveX component can not create object"). No problem under Win95.

I guess both of you use Win98...under which I have the same problem ("ActiveX component can not create object"). No problem under Win95.

Bei mir run Winboard (and LarsenVB) under Win95OSR2.

"regsvr32 c:\windows\system\scrrun.dll"
"regsvr32 c:\windows\system\mscomctl.ocx"

There is something wrong in current LarsenVB full version, that leads to
that kind of errors on some computers.
I asked the author (Luca Dormio) about this; he is trying to fix the problem,
and in the meanwhile he suggested me to try the following:
After installing LarsenVB, locate the files scrrun.dll and mscomctl.ocx
in the system directory (usually \windows\system, \windows\system32 or
similar, depending on the OS) and, from the start/run... menu, execute the following:
where "c:\windows\system\" is the system directory.
I tried, and now LarsenVB works fine on my system (WinNT4.0 SP3)
