Hi,
After reading Volker's post here on LGV20005 v Phananx XXII
games at 1 hour side on duel celeron 433, which is very similar to
my Easter Tourney setup. Should I replace Phalanx with something.
I am thinking maybe SOS or Gromit 3 is better...any thoughts?

SOS would get my vote, because it's my favourite program. I sure that SOS is stronger than AnMon and Comet at tournament timecontrol. It can easily compete with Crafty at 40/100m. I'm not sure about 60/Game though, but it would be interesting to find out. Gromit 3.0 is probably the same level as TCB, might even be slightly stronger.

If you have Anmon 5.06 in you match I'd suggest SOS since its at least as strong. I recently played a 20 match between Phalanx and SOS and SOS got 13 out of 20 points. I am playing a 20 game match between SOS and Anmon which SOS leads 6-5-3 after 14. I wanted to play SOS against Gromit 3 but I'm having trouble with Gromit's book. By the way all matches were on one computer(Pentium 400) with ponder=off, 90 sec a move. Good luck.
