in round 4 play Francesca against Amy. I hope not an 8.5 : 1.5. Amy won in round 1-3 with 8.5 : 1.5 !

I'm beginning to suspect Francesca may not belong within the elite group eg Crafty,Anmon,SOS,Goliath,TCB,COmet,Gromit,Phalanx etc..
SO far every tournament (2 or 3) that I have seen posted where the top engines are played, Francesca usually ends up last..
Yet it appears to have a "VERY" slight edge over engines such as Inmni,Bringer,Ant,Arsan etc.. ..
So what do you people think?

Your results look to be in line with similar results already posted on Frank's tournament page..
I've being testing at both 5mins and now 30 mins games and so far Amy hasn't impressed me..Espically at 5 mins games..
To be fair though, I'm only using one PC so...maybe that skews the results somewhat..

Try the new one. I almost always get one more ply. Ought to be worth about 50 ELO, I would guess.

Hi Thorsten,
na bei der begrenzten Zeit die den meisten Amateuren zur Verfügung steht ist es schon eine Leistung ein Programm von 2300 ELO (und Amy liegt gar weit über 2400 nach meinen Eindrücken) zu programmieren. Was sind da 7 Jahre ? Hast Du in den 7 Jahren regelmäßig an Amy gearbeitet und wenn wie lange in Woche. Ich denke ein Profi hat mehr Zeit in einem Jahr investiert als wahrscheinlich Du in 7 Jahren. Das ist auch gerade der Punkt warum mich die Amateure auch reizen. Es ist verblüffend festzustellen, welche Leistungen erzielt werden.
Ich weiß nicht mehr wer das war aber jemand schrieb das es nur wenige geniale Programmierer gibt. Ist ein Programmierer genial der den ganzen Tag Zeit für ein Programm hat und es dann auf 2600 hieft. Also ich weiß es nicht ob da nicht einiges übersehen wird.
Amy ist jedenfalls eine interessante Entwicklung nur ich werde aus dem Spielstil nicht so ganz schlau. Ich kann indirekt keine Vorteile oder Nachteile bei Stellungsmustern erkennen. Dein Programm scheint sehr ausgewogen zu spielen mit Stärken in allen Bereichen. Die Francesca Partien aus Runde 4 habe ich mir noch nicht angesehen mal sehen ob ich hier etwas erkennen kann
Wenn ich da auch nicht fündig werde, dann kommt der Standardspruch ...
Das Programm spielt positionell gut und hat keine taktischen Schwächen )
