Hello,
I'v had a problem with Yace 0.18 last night(a bug ?)
This happens in the second game in a four game match between YACE and ARASAN5.4.
After winning the first game YACE was playing black and generate some strange moves. See PGN file notation. I don’t know if Arasan or Yace or Winboard is the reason of this ?

Hello,
I'v had a problem with Yace 0.18 last night(a bug ?)
This happens in the second game in a four game match between YACE and ARASAN5.4.
After winning the first game YACE was playing black and generate some strange moves. See PGN file notation. I don’t know if Arasan or Yace or Winboard is the reason of this ?
I think it's a problem Yace has with WinBoard. Did you use /-reuse /-reuse2? When I use these additional options no problems occur.
Best wishes...

Thanks mogens, this is it !! I only used -mg 4 . I think Fransesca also needs /-reuse /-reuse2.
BTW : How do you get your name in that strange color ?
I will test it overnight against the new Bringer 1.7
Best wishes
Johan

Yes, and Gullydeckel. Not all engines like to be reloaded though. When I disable reuse with ColChess I'll get multiple executables running.
I've been added to the regular list by Volker Pittlik, which means that I only need to enter password and email. The purple names represents persons that are present on the regular list.
No big deal unless you equate purple with surpreme being :o)).
The new Bringer appears to work excellently. The modified GUI features are nice too.
Best wishes...
Mogens

1. c4 g4h5 [...]
white ( 1): c2c4
black ( 1): black
black ( 1): go
[...]
0 0.068 -7 0bk: e7e5 (0)
move e7e5
Mogens gave you the advice about the /-reuse. This fixes a problem, when the
opponent of Yace makes a move and then resigns after the move. (In an earlier
version also the claiming of a draw after a move of the opponent into a
3-fold repetition was a problem, but I hope, I have fixed this).
I am interested in fixing bugs. If I look at this
winboard somehow thought, the first move of black was g4h5. From the Yace log:
[...]
And Yace responds to c4 with e5. (With "move" winboard detects the next move).
I don't understand this.
So contrary to Mogens advice, please try again without /-reuse and with /debug
and mail me the relevant parts (end of last game and start of new game)
winboard.deb together with the yace.log.
Regards,
Dieter

So how many posts do i have to do before I qualify for this list? So far I see only you, Dann And Volker of course...Can the rest of us join? I seldom add my email , because, I'm too lazy to type it in...

No but it's cool..I'm a relatively new comer, but I check the winboard forum almost daily..

Ah, now you've done it. You admitted to only checking *almost* daily. You should have said, "I check ever 15 minutes, 24 hours a day, even when taking a bath."
You must also reapeat the famous phrase:
"Volker and Frank are my two most favorite persons in all the earth, and I really mean it."
Finally, you must do something great, like cause world peace or write a new winboard engine.
OK, I'm bluffing. I have no idea how some of us got the strange honour of having pink names. But at least we are glad to be glowing pink.

You must also reapeat the famous phrase:
"Volker and Frank are my two most favorite persons in all the earth, and I >really mean it."
Finally, you must do something great, like cause world peace or write a new >winboard engine.
OK, I'm bluffing. I have no idea how some of us got the strange honour of >having pink names. But at least we are glad to be glowing pink.
Does Volker value honesty? I check every 15 minutes, except for the time when I was in a chess match with a GM..
Done..
I suppose organising a small chess tournament doesn't cut it does it?

Probably to do with senority ,general helpfulness etc..How long have you being on anyway?
Having no computer skills at all, I can't make a new winboard program..And it's seems silly to try to out do Morgan Larsens when he explains to newbies how to work winboard engines..Usually leads to duplicate posts which are useless anyway..
