The question of opening books or not has nothing to do with this specific case and I think you're quite aware of that. At least you should be. As you might know, a lot of people, myself included, believe that the opening book is an integrated part of the program. Therefore the deadline for new programs stands for books as well. The package delivered on monday had to be complete, it's very simple.

But for those who help, do you insist that they only use the standard book, chosen by the programmer?
And for those that don't have one like Amy, you use one made from 2600.pgn games?


Personally, this issue i feel is quite insignificant . Ideally , the default opening book should be used..SInce this gives the program it's character..But if every programmer wants to use books made up from the wonderful 2600.pgn , so be it..

So far, for what's it's worth regarding the 2 main issues , I agree with you.
