I'm thinking about replacing the old program Bionic with Green Light Chess in my tournament, so I wanted to hear if anyone has any experience with the program regarding problems with timecontrol. I'm going to test it myself later today, but I wouldn't mind a few pointers.
BTW, be careful with the GLC bookmaker. The resulting book is almost twice the size of your pgnfile.
It seems that the normal time control of moves/mins is OK, but the incremental time controls don't work correctly. I will look into this for the next release.
The book builder is builds very simple files, which are basically a tree (rather than a hash table). This has a problem with size (as you noticed), and also means that GL can't go back into book once it has left.
The book size problem can be partially alleviated now that v1.3 is available. This version lets you limit the depth of lines added, and defaults to 15 ply. You need the new 2.08a version of GLC to use book files created by the new book builder (although 1.3 will also modify books from older versions).
