What is that? Something involving CAP?
Am I downloading a crafty book, a Epd.file , A learn file or what??
Guess I got to wait for 2 minutes download time to see what's lurking in the zipped file..

Curious, it's a crafty book..Which is exactly the same size as the one I downloaded from the offical size..
I assume the CAP records are already in...But the size of the books remains the same?(Yes...because??)
Also do you think it's a good idea I import the learn file (based on games i have played on my computer so far), to recapture all the learning I got ?

Sort of. It is the Crafty opening book which has had millions of CAP positions used to improve its knowlege.
BOOK.BIN is what has changed.
Unless you read this first.
Here is a quick result made by playing very fast games against strong engines.
I ran G/60 seconds games (where the book would be more important) and here are the results:
(1) Crafty : 161 (+141,= 6,- 14), 89.4 %
SOS : 100 (+ 95,= 4,- 1), 97.0 %
Yace : 61 (+ 46,= 2,- 13), 77.0 %
It looks like SOS is not really good at the very fast games.

Because the book has empty slots that are waiting for CAP scores. This one has a lot more of them filled in.
Won't hurt anything.

Nice.. I guess, I won't have to waste time importing the raw cap.epd data which could take hours on my slow computer..

It took over an hour on a PII 350 MHz just to process the data. It's over a gigabyte of EPD.

With this book, what are your suggested settings for book width and book random in the crafty.rc file?
Thanks

Use whatever you like. Be aware that to make crafty use it against a computer, you have to rename your bookc.bin to something else before hand, or crafty will use that one when playing a computer.
