Now that the whinging twits have poked their foot in the door, it looks like it will be necessary to set up a speed-bump.
On the minus side, it will require everyone to go through the hassle of registry. It will require greater administration effort on your side of the fence.
On the plus side, everyone can have glowing names, and different colors too.

Hey Dann,
I was about to suggest the same thing....
If Volker wants he can check out various (kick-butt) Message-boards that are out there. I like (www.ezboard.com). Of course it's just a suggestion, I like this style of message board as well.

Phil,
I hate control, and I'd rather _not_ see this forum require registration. I think CCC pretty much proves that registration and then too much moderation is a crock. But CCC is far from the worst moderated forum, it is pretty much ok for that type of forum.
All that being said though, someone _is_ stealling identities, and that's a big problem. I don't have any good suggestions. I just hoped this could remain a forum where anyone could visit to get help without first going through the trouble of registering first. I'm not sure if it's the answer for your problems.

Just extend the current system. All regulars should have their own passwords and should be glowing..For those who just post once or twice asking for help, why should they register?
Doesn't this solve the problem?

Yeah, I hear ya Pete,
Registration can be a pain, and not even all the moderation in the world can stop the morons out there. Jerks will be jerks I guess. It's just too bad that a fourm like this one can be so easily interupted. It only takes one person... Considering that this fourm doesn't require registration, I think it's done pretty good, not too many pointless post. There is one solution as hard as it maybe. Just ignore it. Don't replay. And pretend the post doesn't even exsist. Maybe that will solve the future problems.
Well it's 1:07am here, hehe, I really should hit the sack :)
Phil,
Phil

There's no reason to go ballistic about a few moronic posts. It happens all the time and it doesn't bother me all that much. Just delete them and move on. If it keeps on occuring, then extend the number of regulars (purple names). I do wonder who the culprit might be, maybe the author of WinCraft?
Best wishes...

Mogens, I have nothing to do with this, besides I cannot use your book because
the games are between humans and computers, and what's more, surfers should'nt leach my files which are meant for private use.
Good day to you, mister.

Okay Winfred, I'm sorry if my suspicion was incorrect.
No, they're mainly between humans. There's very few computer-human games.
If they are private, then they shouldn't be made available for surfers. That's entirely your own mistake. And a serious one if commercial software is involved.
Good day to you too, Mr. Craft.
Best wishes...

Also maybe have the IP appear on the post as I have seen at other sites.
That alone could be all that is needed.
Thanks.

I wonder , what made you suspect Mr Winfred Craft?
It could be anyone except perhaps for the "glowing purple ones" i think..
