What's the matter about LA PETITE? Is a clon of CRAFTY? Nobody test it? Nobody talk about it. The mine ever play more slow and bad than CRAFTY. And Dr. Muller, nobody chat about it?

I don't know what all the Hoopla is about. I was one of the first people to download La Petite when it first became available. I know that it is mostly based on Dr.Hyatt's Crafty, due to the fact that certain people with much greater chess programming skill and knowledge than I, have stated so in this, and other forums. But, this does not take away the enjoyment that I get from playing against it, and from pitting it against other chess engines. It most definately has one of the most Unique playing styles around. Very aggressive and enterprosing.

I think that this hits a sore spot with Dr. Hyatt because it was his work and he was not being given credit for it by LaPetite's programmer, and there was a history behind this because of another Crafty clone by LaPetite's programmer.
So Bob speaks up and says, hey look, this is _my_ program, so I looked a little bit closer, and yes, it was Bob's program. So when I see this, then I have to agree and say that it's Crafty and speak up, and the problem is more complex than it _just_ being based on Crafty, it's partly that Bob is not being acknowlaged as the programmer, and that LaPetite's programmer was planning to release a commercial program too, and I think we pretty much know that it would have been very heavily based on Crafty.
