I wouldn´t say this. I am testing here a newer version and it is really strong. But I need more tests with ph22 for a final conclusion.
Fact: LG needs a litte bit more time, may be 6-10m on 500 mhz hardware.

Would that be version 2.05? BTW will there/is there a commericial version of goliath? If not why not just release the full version?
My impression is that Lgol is super fast..The fact is it's already a fast searcher and the fact that the light version is lacking "knowledge" makes it even faster . At fast time limits, it's interesting to see that it searches 2 plies or more than most of the other winboard engines..Seems to crush most except for crafty (which itself is quite fast+ excellent knowledge)
At longer time limits, i think the faster search of Lgolith wouldn't translate to that many plies..
BTW, I'm new here so please excuse me if I make any obviously dumb statements

Hello
From personal experience, version 2.5 of LG2000 is at least 50 rating points strong at slower time controls then other version. While Phalanx is quite strong, I really have my doubts that it would be able to compeat with LG now. Too bad the author of Phalanx didn't enter the ICC tourney.

Hello Jason,
I am sure that Phalanx 22 is stronger than LG2000 V2 in slow games !!
For me the 2.5 doesn't exist because it is not publicly available !
